Have managed to get a phone # for THE O'Donovan from Skib Heritage Centre, They think it may only be his mother living there permanantly.

Regarding publicity in Ireland, I'm wondering if, in addition to the posters, we could also have it included in the local radio announcements of local news and events. When we were in Ireland a couple of years ago, I really enjoyed listening to the local radio station each morning. Humor would also help increase interest and enthusiasm. Do they charge for the radio announcements, and would they be open to running a series of short 2 person skits about a couple and all their "adventures" getting things together to be a part of the event? If this sounds doable, practical, and not too far off the beam, I have an idea to pitch for the skits featuring an "I Love Lucy" type of couple. If not, I'll quickly get over it. :-)

Sounds great, Randa. I could be way off base, but my main concern is just growing too big, and therefore unmanageable.
However, I may just be being overly-cautious.
We are a committee, all interested in seeing this Gathering become a success. I am only one voice.
We need input from all other members on their thoughts about advertising as well as other aspects the Gathering.

It was mentioned in the meeting last Sunday, 23 Feb, that I (Diana) should work with Peter re getting posters displayed in local shops. Please let me know how I can contact Peter and if the posters are now availalble.. thanks

We haven’t done any advertising yet as we wanted to keep it open for anyone planning on traveling. I agree that we want to keep it manageable. Bigger in this case isn’t necessarily better
